If you’d like a physical copy of your documents, you can choose to download and print the documents we send to you by email. You’ll still help cut back paper, by not using envelopes.
You can also return to getting your documents sent by post by changing your preferences in the State app or giving us a call on 0800 69 44 45.
Yes. Your digital documents are formatted so they’ll open on different devices, including smartphones and tablets.

If you choose to get your documents by email, you’ll also get email notifications.

If you’re registered, you can also access your digital documents through the State app or by going to our website and logging in to My State, your online account.
We understand why you’d be cautious. The 0800 number in the email is a dedicated line just for this communication. It’s verified and secure. If you’re ever unsure, you can always give our main customer service number a call to confirm.
On your policy documents, you'd usually just see your policy number. With this system change, we're using a customer number to identify you and make these changes more efficiently.
It’s easy to make sure emails don’t go into your spam or junk folder by adding documents@info.state.co.nz to your safe sender list or adjusting your filters.
