Setting up direct debit

At State, we make it easy to make payments, so that you can get back to doing the things that are most important to you.

If you'd like to set up a direct debit for a personal policy, you can do so in minutes using the Online Direct Debit Form (please allow up to 10 business days for processing).

Alternatively, phone State on 0800 80 24 24. Check that you have your bank account number or credit card details on-hand and we'll set up your direct debit right away.

We'll send you a letter to let you know when payments will start. If you haven't heard from us before your policy is about to renew, contact us to ensure you remain covered.

Frequency of payments

For personal car, home, contents and motorbike insurance you can opt to pay fortnightly or monthly, on the day or date you choose.

For business, boat, trailer and caravan insurance, you have the choice of paying either on the 10th or 20th of each month.

Also, see payment options offered by State.
