State Roadside Rescue is an optional cover available to our personal State Insurance customers. It applies to the car, not the driver, so anyone using the car can get help if they’ve run out of petrol, have a flat battery, broken down, been locked out or need to change a tyre.
State Roadside Rescue is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and it costs just $30 a year for three call-outs. Any additional call-outs within the year will be charged at our standard fee of $50 including GST.
If our team is unable to get your car back on the road, they'll organise a tow truck to transport it to the nearest safe place or repairer. If you elect to have your vehicle towed to a place of your choice, an additional charge of $3 per kilometre will apply. Service limits apply, and some extra services are at your own cost - for example, a new battery, replacement keys and locks, and any windscreen repairs undertaken.
Note: Your vehicle insurance may have cover for replacement keys and locks and windscreen repairs, check your policy wording to find out.
No, State Roadside Rescue is only equipped to help with breakdowns. If you need assistance because you’ve been in a collision or car accident, it’s best to call your insurance provider. Your insurance cover may include towing options.
