One in 20 holidays are cancelled or derailed before they begin. Here are some common reasons:
You can’t predict a slip in the shower or a flood in Queensland, but you can plan for them. Get travel insurance with cancellation cover before you go, it’ll come in handy for any prepaid tickets, activities and tours. Check out our State Travel policy for full terms and conditions.
Lost luggage. Tricky thieves. Panic packing. There are plenty of ways for your things to go missing while overseas. Driving unfamiliar roads can easily lead to expensive fender benders in rental vehicles. Cameras and smartphones often end their days soaking wet at the bottom of an ocean. Makes sure you have enough cover for your things, items that are extra valuable can be covered under additional luggage cover. And if you do find yourself in a bind with lost or stolen luggage, get a written Police report from local authorities within 24 hours as it’ll help make things a lot easier when you make a claim. See our State Travel policy wording for more info.
