It’s a bit of a drive from Queen Charlotte Sound to Blenheim but one day earlier this year I had to be there to visit my husband Bob, who was in hospital for surgery for cancer, so I ducked into the supermarket on the way.
I soon wished I hadn’t. Someone reversed out of a carpark and — crash! — there went our car. Both doors on the passenger’s side of my car were caved in. I couldn’t believe it when the other driver asked me, “Did I do that?”
With Bob unwell you can imagine it was the last thing I needed. So I checked in at the hospital to make sure Bob was ok, and then went straight to the local State store. I was put through directly to a claims consultant on the phone and the claim was sorted. Just like that. There was no hassle. No questions asked. I couldn’t have asked for a better insurance experience.
State organised a preferred panelbeater to call me about a convenient time for my car to be fixed. Someone from the panelbeater’s then drove me to Blenheim airport to pick up the rental car provided by the hire car extension we’ve got on our policy. Then when our car was fixed they drove it out to the airport because I had to drop the rental back there.
Bob and I were blown away by how good State was. It’s even better that Bob is now safe and well — but I haven’t been back to that particular supermarket since!
